DRIVE by H.R. Owen
Whilst at FMS Publishing in 2012, I was briefed by H.R. Owen – the UK’s leading official luxury and supercar dealer – to produce a customer print magazine offering a rare glimpse into their world.
Boasting a hugely influential and wealthy client list, H.R. Owen was keen to position the magazine as truly luxury publication, and one that spoke directly to drivers who enjoy the finer things in life. Most of all, the title had to encourage readers to use (and regularly service) their prized possessions as often as possible.
Fittingly named DRIVE, each issue contained a series of regular features including ‘Under Lock & Key’ showcasing incredible private car collections, ‘At Your Service’ revealing the inner workings of H. R. Owen’s many official service centres and ‘Road Trip’, where we detailed great driving routes advising readers where to eat and stay along the way. Much more than just a very high-end car magazine, it romanticised luxury and supercar ownership acting as a valuable sales tool in its own right.
My role as Project Manager and Deputy Editor meant that I was heavily involved in every process of production; from feature ideation and feature writing to budgeting, commissioning and print. I was also the main point of client contact.
